Concreting around Central Coast
Central Coast Council has run this whole area as one local government area since 12 May 2016, when the former Gosford City Council and Wyong Shire Council merged into a single authority. For a concreting job that means the same crossover rules apply whether the site is in Erina, near the old Gosford boundary, or up around Tuggerah and Toukley in what used to be Wyong Shire. The region splits into a coastal strip wrapping Tuggerah Lake and Brisbane Water and a hinterland running toward the escarpment, and that split says more about a block access and drainage than its suburb name does.
Housing stock along the lake and beach fringe (Woy Woy, Umina Beach, Long Jetty, Killarney Vale) tends to sit on older, narrower blocks with less room to swing a truck than the newer subdivisions inland around Wyoming or Berkeley Vale. Either way, if the pour touches the road reserve between kerb and boundary, that section is a Vehicle Access Crossing, and Council treats it as a separate approval. That's the same requirement everywhere in the LGA, coastal or hinterland.
Permits and Central Coast Council rules
A Vehicle Access Crossing covers the section of driveway between the road pavement and your property boundary, and Council requires approval before a new one is built or an existing one altered, whether your street has kerb and gutter or not. Council checks that the crossing is safe for vehicles and pedestrians, doesn't conflict with infrastructure such as signs, power poles or street trees, and manages stormwater properly, meeting Australian Standards and Council's Standard Drawings and Specifications. A straightforward application is usually processed within 14 to 21 days. Once built, maintaining the crossing becomes the property owner's responsibility, not Council's. Council's 2026/27 schedule charges $271.95 to inspect a standard crossing, and where the crossing is steep, has multiple levels or may be affected by future road works it needs a site-specific design, for which Council allows 28 days.

Timing and lead times in Central Coast
The one timing constraint that applies everywhere on the Central Coast is physical, not seasonal: concrete cannot be placed into a flooded or waterlogged excavation, so a wet run of days pushes a booked pour. Low-lying blocks near the Tuggerah Lake and Brisbane Water foreshores tend to hold surface water longer after heavy rain than higher ground further from the water; it's worth raising with your concreter if that describes your site.
